The formality of Tuluva worship is totally special when compared to that of others. Here many personalities like  Mudda, Kalala, Koti and Chennaya have been worshipped .
In the same way many people who were Chinese, Arabians,
Christians and Muslims are also worshipped here.
In the same way a British Subedar (a chief native officer of a company of Indian soldiers in British service) is worshipped with the name Kannada Beera.
Police and Thief are also familiar in worshipping as a deity this is very auspicious in Tulunad .    
Before that what they were and why they become worshipped it’s all are not of big issues but after they are worshipped they are powerful deities with equality and devotion. This is the culture of Tulunad. (c)Dr Lakshmi g prasad
This (culture) is ocean which cannot be researched fully.
In Udupi dist there is a place called Kaapu where Pili(Tiger) Kola is famous and known to all. But there with Pilichamundi and other Butha’s there are Police Bhuta, Kalla(Thief )Bhuta, Senava(a village accountant),Patler Buta,Tigamaarer, Balaaimaarer,Madimaya and Madimalu Bhuta. And other worships are not known to people. When  the Manager of the temple Sri.P.Sundar  gave me the details heartfully (As I was not able to go there due to some ill health.) (c)Dr Lakshmi g prasad
Kapu’s Pilichamundi and other deities to take a holy bath they go to Ganga River while they go whoever come in front of them they goes disappear as here the two officers Patler and Senava were talking about the taxes where Patler said all are escaping to pay the taxes and what are you doing?.
So Senava says I use Police to do this and collect tax.Then there Tigamaarer (Honey lender) and Balaaimarer who lends Beaten rice) also gives tax later while going they find a troop of thieves and captured them and handled to Patler these all are vanished due to the power of god and now worshipped.
This shows the administration of that time. In Tulunad irrespective of caste ,creed they are worshipped as a deity.

ತುಳುವರ ಭೂತಾರಾಧನೆ ಬಹಳ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾದುದು.ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮುದ್ದ, ಕಳಲ ,ಕೋಟಿ ಚೆನ್ನಯರಂತ ಅನೇಕ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ವೀರರು ದೈವಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ,ಅರಬ್ ಚೀನೀ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳೂ ಭೂತಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಜೈನ .ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರೂ ಭೂತಗಳಾಗಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

‌ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಸುಭೆದಾರನೊಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೀರ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ದೈವವಾಗಿ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ .ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಪೊಲೀಸರೂ, ಕಳ್ಳರೂ ,ಪಟ್ಲೆರ್, ಸೇನವ ಮೊದಲಾದವರೂ ಕೂಡಾ ದೈವತ್ವ ಪಡೆದು ಆರಾಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದು ತುಳುನಾಡಿನ ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯ .


ಮೊದಲು ಇವರು ಏನಾಗಿದ್ದರು ?ಯಾಕಾಗಿ ದೈವಗಳಾದರು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ .ದೈವತ್ವ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲು ಏನೇ ಆಗಿರಲಿ ನಂತರ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವ ಸತ್ಯಗಳು .ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಮಾನ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ನೆಲೆ .ಇದು ತುಳುನಾಡಿನ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಗರಿಮೆ ಕೂಡಾ !
ಇದೊಂದು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿದಷ್ಟೂ ಮುಗಿಯದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಸಾಗರ ,ಮೊಗೆದಷ್ಟೂ ಮುಗಿಯದ ರಸಭಾವಿ !


ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕಾಪುವಿನ ಪಡುಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿನ ಮುಗೇರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಪಿಲಿ ಕೋಲ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾದುದು .ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ವಿಚಾರ ಕೂಡ !.copy rights reserved  (c)Dr Lakshmi g prasad

ಆದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಲಿಚಾಮುಂಡಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ದೈವಗಳ ಸೇರಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂದು ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ಭೂತ ,ಕಳ್ಳ ಭೂತ ,ಸೇನವ ಭೂತ ,ಪಟ್ಲೆರ್ ಭೂತ, ತಿಗಮಾರೆರ್ ,ಬಲಾಯಿಮಾರೆರ್ ಮದಿಮಾಯ ಮದಿಮಾಲ್ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಅನೇಕ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಭೂತಗಳಿಗೆ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಇರುವುದು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ .

   ಕಾಪು ವಿನ ಮುಗೇರ ಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗುರಿಕ್ಕಾರ ರಾಗಿರುವ ಕುಂದಾಪುರದ ತಹಶೀಲ್ದಾರ ಆಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಪಿ ಸುಂದರ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳೆದವಾರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ  ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು .(ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಆದರದಿಂದ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದರು ,ನನಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರೆಕಾರ್ಡ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಇತ್ತು ,ಕೂಡಾ ಆದರೆ ತುಸು ಅರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಕಾಡಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಹೋಗಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ )


ಕಾಪು ವಿನ ಪಿಲಿಚಾಂಡಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ದೈವಗಳು ಮಾವಡಿತೀರ್ಥಕ್ಕೆ ಗಂಗಾ ಸ್ನಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಎದುರಾದ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಮಾಯ ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇರಿಗೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ .


ಇವರು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ದಾರಿ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇನವ ಮತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಲೆರ್ ಎಂಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ವರ್ಗದವರು ಎದುರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ .ಪಟ್ಲೆರ್ ಸೇನವನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಡೆ ಜನರು ಸುಂಕ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಸುಂಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಆಗುತ್ತಾ ಇಲ್ಲ ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಿ ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಸೇನವ ಜನರು ಯಾರು ಸುಂಕ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಲೆರ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರನ್ನು ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಡೆ ಸುಂಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಮಾಡಲುಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆcopy rights reserved  (c)Dr Lakshmi g prasad

ಹಾಗೆ ಸೇನವ ಪೊಲೀಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಸುಂಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ .ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗ ಬಂದ ತಿಗ ಮಾರೆರ್ ಎಂದರೆ ಜೇನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಗಾರರಿಂದ ಸುಂಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ .ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬಲಾಯಿ ಮಾರೆರ್ ಕೈನ್ದಲೂ ಸುಂಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ .ಮುಂದೆ ದರೋಡೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಳ್ಳರ ಗುಂಪೊಂದು ಎದುರಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ,ಆ ಕಳ್ಳರನ್ನು  ಹಿಡಿದು ಪೋಲಿಸರು ಪಟ್ಲೆರ್ ಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ .ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇರಿಗೆಗೆ ದೈವಗಳು ಸಂದಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ .ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡೆಂಜಿ ಬಂಟ ಎಂಬ ದೈವಕ್ಕೂ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಇದೆ .

ಇದೊಂದು ದೈವಗಳ ಕಾರಣಿಕದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಗಿನ ಕಾಲದ ರೀತಿ ರಿವಾಜುಗಳು ಆಡಳಿತ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಾ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ .

ತುಳುವರ ದೈವರಾಧನೆ ಜಾತಿ  ಧರ್ಮ, ಅಧಿಕಾರ  ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೀರಿದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ .
